Some thoughts on the importance of painting in general.
There are many valid and important reasons to exercise your creativity. Wheather you are learning new ideas and techniques or rekindling your gift, art is a powerful means of expression and relaxation. Even if you are just curious and want to try painting as a beginner, you are welcome in this class. The Woodford Inn is a relaxing environment for my art classes. We have excellent food and drink available to us for lunch and dinner and those who wish to spend the night at this historic and charming Inn will receive a 10% discount on their room.

Classes will be two weekends per month, typically the second and fourth weekend each month. Please call The Woodford Inn to confirm dates and make reservations.
Feb 22-23 / March 8-9, 22-23 / April 12-13, 26-27
Our room is divided into two stations. Each one has a still life set up. My aim is to provide you an opportunity to complete the painting in two sessions. The more time you invest the more you will learn. Students who wish to paint from a photograph rather than live will be given the opportunity.
Oil or Acrylic Paints:
Titanium White (large tube)
Cadmium Yellow Medium
Cadmium Red Light
Oil Painting: Bristle Filberts at least two of each of the following sizes: 1,3,5,7,9, a fan brush, a couple of round sable brushes #3, Linseed Oil, Turpentine, 16×20 canvas, disposable palettes, grey or wood pallets, paper towels
Acrylics Painting: Please bring quality synthetics brushes, water copntainer, spray mist bottle (to keep acrylics wet), paper towels, disposable palette
I work primarily in oils and encourage all students to consider learning this time honored medium. Oils are more versatile for multiple techniques, the brushes last much longer and the paint doesn’t dry and quicly.
