Some thoughts on the importance of painting in general.
There are many valid and important reasons to exercise your creativity. Wheather you are learning new ideas and techniques or rekindling your gift, art is a powerful means of expression and relaxation. Even if you are just curious and want to try painting as a beginner, you are welcome in this class. The Woodford Inn is a relaxing environment for my art classes. We have excellent food and drink available to us for lunch and dinner and those who wish to spend the night at this historic and charming Inn will receive a 10% discount on their room.
SCHEDULE:
Friday Evening: 4:30 until 9:30
This includes 4 hours of instruction and a one hour break for supper. I will be eating at the Inn with any students who wish to join me.
Saturday Morning: 9:30am until 2pm
This includes 4 hours of instruction and a half hour break for lunch. As always, I will be eating at the Inn with any students who wish to join me.
Saturday Afternoon: 2:30 until 6:30
This includes 4 hours of instruction. A questions and answer session will be held during supper. Artists are welcome to share photos of their work.

SYLLABUS:
Our room is divided into two stations. Each one has a still life set up. My aim is to provide you an opportunity to complete the painting in two sessions. The more time you invest the more you will learn. Students who wish to paint from a photograph rather than live will be given the opportunity.

Oil Painting: Bristle Filberts at least two of each of the following sizes: 1,3,5,7,9, a fan brush, a couple of round sable brushes #3, Linseed Oil, Turpentine, 16×20 canvas, disposable palettes, grey or wood pallets, paper towels
Acrylics Painting: Please bring quality synthetics brushes, water copntainer, spray mist bottle (to keep acrylics wet), paper towels, disposable palette
I work primarily in oils and encourage all students to consider learning this time honored medium. Oils are more versatile for multiple techniques, the brushes last much longer and the paint doesn’t dry and quicly.
